Lucy is a 1983 Lord Nelson Tug Boat which we lovingly restored. It turns out a boat is nothing like renovating a house. Sure, there is paint and sanding that happens, but all the systems work so differently. Everything needs to be stable for the high seas. As developers, we maximized every square inch, like adding teak to the top deck for an outdoor dining area and constructing new convertible spaces. We dotted the tugboat with brass hardware and coordinated lighting from Workstead to add modernity to the space and add atmosphere. We wanted the boat to feel timeless. Though we made a lot of changes, we focused on preserving the same spirit Lucy came to us with, keeping the same detail work the original design was based on.
