A Texture-Filled Condo
A modern apartment in DUMBO offered a blank slate for our total renovation, which was designed to bring character and texture into the space, and to frame stunning views of the downtown Manhattan skyline. We worked closely with the owners to source custom furniture and abstract art in an earth-toned palette. The centerpiece of the main space is a dining table made by artist Fitzhugh Karol, who commissioned a foundry in Williamsburg to cast its forged bronze legs. Slate-gray Pietra Cardosa kitchen counters and white oak herringbone floors created a luxurious but simple backdrop for the outdoor spaces and dramatic art installations throughout the space. Open shelving in both the kitchen and marble-lined bathroom lends a sense of openness and a casual energy.
