Committed to supporting local Brooklyn makers, The Brooklyn Home Company partnered with Humza Deas from New York City contemporary art gallery, Sugarlift, to curate the building’s artwork collection. Born and raised in Bushwick, the neighborhood adjacent to where 524 Halsey Street stands, Deas is a well-established photographer known for his fearless nature, scaling both bridges and buildings, and dramatic images of New York City’s streetscape, skyline and landmarks. TBHCo purchased six of Deas’ large-scale photographs for the building hallways, including Once Upon a Time, Right Foot Forward, Archway, A Good Day in WSP, Torch and Stuy Park. Upon closing, 524 Halsey Street buyers will also receive a printed work by Deas as a gift for their new home.
